8 Skincare hacks we love

We all know it, and we all either love or hate it – but your skincare routine is vital for ensuring that you have beautiful, youthful skin for longer.

But just like health and fitness, there’s a lot of noise floating around the social world. Do this, don’t do that – it can be super confusing we know!

To make things a little easier, we’ve put together 8 of our favourite skincare hacks to add to your arsenal!

1. Find a routine that works best for you and your skin

We’ve all seen them, read them and sometimes even try them for ourselves, but a key hack that we love (and probably one of the most important), is to find routines that work for your skin.

You’ll often see which routine is working best, or sometimes worst, for you by how your skin responds – sometimes this takes a few days to a few weeks to occur.

Some key elements to include in your routines include a Day Cream, Eye Cream and Toner, however other products can vary depending on your skin type.

2. Avoid skipping your morning + night routines

Hand in hand with hack 1, once you’ve found skincare routines that work for you and your skin, avoid skipping them!

As you undergo your morning and night routines, your skin comes to “know” that products are due to be applied in a particular order. Missing a few days can undo all of your hard work.

3. Indulge in at least one face mask per week

Now that you’re on the way to your ideal skin, you have to make sure that you’re looking after it the best you can.

Try your best to indulge in at least one face mask per week. Whether clarifying, hydrating or even detoxifying – they’re fabulous for enhancing your self-care and adding extra attention to your skin. 4. Remember to apply SPF

We know that it’s not always beautifully sunny, especially in the UK, but SPF is a crucial element to your skincare routine.

Not only does it help reduce the risk of developing Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SSC) by 40% found by The Skin Cancer Foundation, but it also helps to prevent early skin ageing caused by the sun, including wrinkles, sagging and age spots.

It’s super easy to incorporate into your morning skincare routine – many brands have facial-specific SPF ranges for a dedicated step, or alternatively our Priming Day Cream contains SPF 30 for two steps in one.

5. Don’t forget about your neck!

Yep – you read it right! Even though a significant focus of skincare is the face, you actually also need to take your products down onto your neck too!

Just like the skin on our faces, our necks need the same amount of attention and care to ensure beautiful skin long into our lifetimes!

To keep it looking youthful, take a little time to apply any moisturisers, toners and creams to your neck in an upward motion to help stimulate the cells and prevent skin sagging.

6. Opt for a Toner to rehydrate your skin throughout the day

7. Remember to stay hydrated.

One of our favourite hacks every single time – please remember to stay hydrated!

Did you know that the recommended water intake in the UK is actually around 1.2 litres, and by doing so actually helps to improve your skin, as well as helps your body to perform at its optimum level.

Research has found that when your skin is properly hydrated, your skin takes on a more radiant-looking glow while being more even and supple.

8. Get your beauty sleep.

We couldn’t not put this one in our list!

Getting at least 8 hours sleep a night actually can help your skin to look smoother and more youthful! 

As you sleep, your skin’s layers make new collagen to help prevent sagging, boosts blood flow to the surface of the skin so that you wake up with a healthy glow and even helps your skincare products to work better! What a win!
